alischa of bespoke press has been in the process of a year-long renovation of her lovely brisbane home. yesterday she sent over some beautiful photos of the before and afters (bathroom and living room) and i was floored with the level of construction they undertook. i consider repainting a major job so whenever i see woodworking involved i’m always super impressed. i love the clean modern look alischa and her husband created and thought you guys might enjoy the finished product. congrats to alischa and her husband on a job well done. click here to read about their renovation project- don’t miss the story of a car crashing into their home!

Ohh, I love that bathroom! great job dude.
Grace, did you post the sneak peek of your redecorating efforts and I missed it? Thanks!
I can’t get my eyes off those amazing floors! I love the modern furnishings set against the old (new?), detailed woodwork. Simple and beautiful.
Okay…one, the framework around that door is SPECTACULAR and jealousy-inducing! Two, the floors?!! OMG! I just wanna slide over them in and enjoy all that richness. Even if I’m in my underpants and socks! And if I am drawing any sort of comparison to Tom Cruise and myself…then you know it has to be really good!
Those floors are perfection!
Lovely!
Love, love, love that tub! Those floors are so beautiful too. I would love to sink down for a long hot bath, and just melt the days cares away…I am jealous, Alischa!

I love the floors, architectural details and the bathroom – a welcome change from all the magazine spaces where everything is perfect.
I publish a weekly home tour (every Thursday) at Strange Closets, and I try to find a variety of spaces.
One question – I love the idea of brushing my teeth in front of that sink and being bathed in sunlight, but I’d miss the mirror.

Thankyou for your lovely post Grace! It sure has been a labour of love on a massively tight budget!!!
We were so fortunate with the floors as they polished up gorgeously… for a while I wanted to paint them white!! Luckily my husband talked me out of that one…
I have just uploaded another post about the building of fretwork and timber work within our house. I hope you all enjoy!
Alischa,
It looks awesome!
You must have had so much fun and seeing the completed results make all the blood, sweat and tears (and cars crashing through your house) worth it.
I feel inspired, pity I don’t have a property here in Bris. to get my hands on.
Awesome effort with the bathroom configuration.
What type of hardwood are the floors? They look beautiful!
MEL :-)
Absolutely gorgeous!! Can you please tell me what type of hardwood floors you have and what you use to make them so shiny! They are lovely!! :)
That bathroom is such an awesome transformation!
Hello, the floors are silky oak timber which is the same as our timber internal doors.
We don’t wash them with anything but water and a chemical free mop! With a long haired dog it feels like we are forever washing them!!
Totally agree – the floors are simply stunning and the bathroom well all I can say is lucky you getting to enjoy it all every day
I guess I must be terribly out of style, because I actually like the bathroom before, though clawfoot tubs are amazing!
