In my diminishing free time lately I’ve engaged in occasional reflection. Things we’ve learned in the few years of doing this soap and flower thing:

1. Cats help sell things. Even if your cat has no teeth and drools (as darla here does), he/she will bring customers in, and they will make purchases.

2. Nail polish is an excellent way to come up with color ideas. It really is. Get your nails did, then watch color combinations appear all through out your day.
3. Pink and green always go together.

4. The best gardens in the city are probably right in your neighborhood. Our neighbor Rachel keeps this beautiful garden in front of LeNells. She’s out there often teaching passersby about how to grow things themselves, which adds so much to its beauty.

5. With regards to styling, of which I really know little about, I’ve noticed that sometimes leaving your personal junk in the mix makes the scene that much better. Here, as in my farm market spoils, or Eric’s crack viles.

Crack vials? What?!
OMG are those gooseberries in picture 2? I love gooseberries, my family has grown them my entire life and those are HUGE! Either you have danity, tiny hands, or a magical gooseberry bush!
i totally agree on the nail polish thing. I am wearing a dark neon purple on my toes called bermuda shorts that has been very inspiring. excellent observation.
they are gooseberries! My first ever I think…like a tart little green plum with dark seeds that you see beneath the translucent flesh. my magical gooseberry bush is an Icelandic woman at the tuesday borough hall farm market.
Good idea about the cats. I’ll tell Joey to include some pics of Pivo and Gary in the proposal he’s currently writing. He’ll definitely get funded!! Early detection for cancer? Pah! It’s all about the cats!!
Hee hee. Love the crack vials and the nail polish tip. And hmm, how can I get my cats to feature in my online shop?
Great ideas–all of them except the crack vials. Some of us have lost loved ones to drugs and have a strong negative reaction to that suggestion. It doesn’t help sell anything to me! Cats, nailpolish and gardens–now that’s a whole different story! : )
I love LaNells. I wish there was a liquor store with both the same caliber of liquors AND with such a pretty garden in Seattle!
BTW, what’s up with the crack vials?
You have really cool personal junk.
Hey folks, they’re not really crack vials. It’s an old leather case for collecting specimens. I feel really bad if I offended anyone.
Your personal junk is me being stylish and organized. I love it.
