i’m loving these new plates and little wooden twig pin from zand2ohs. zand2ohs is the work of san luis obispo-based artist mignon khargie- i love the plates she created using a collection of old wooden type. mignon’s projects are often inspired by the work she does with her daughter, which gives everything such a special layer of meaning. click here to see more of mignon’s work and to send her an email (and click here to shop her etsy shop).

i particularly love the “OH” plate, because i can so picture someone picking up the last cookie to see that!
These are gorgeous!
Grace – why on Earth haven’t you mentioned the write-up about Design Sponge in the May 2008 issue of French Elle Decoration?
That’s cool!

Mignon’s beautiful zoo illustrations are also in the Communication Arts illustration annual on stands now (the July issue). She’s a genius, and I’m not just saying that because I know and love her — she’s truly disgustingly talented.
Thanks Grace, appreciate all of your kind words! And thanks to all of you too.
Grace – no, unfortunately I don’t.
The feature mentions you, and Apartment Therapy, and….oh, I wish I had the copy here at my office because I can’t remember the others.
Sorry!
i love these plates, and completely agree with twelvethirteen.
that first plate is so perfect — most talking happens around the table. :)
oooh! i love the yikes. i say yikes. i am a “yikes’er”
these are so stinkin fabulous I can’t stand it!! Thanks Grace!
These plates are slick! I love the FOXES illustration as well! They remind me of apostrophes :D
OH.
I like that one best.
These are stunning items however I’ve recently been looking through design blogs and these look too close to other items by different designers, I’ve seen of late for me to go wow!
I understand that today it’s nothing new to come up with a similar concept. I would love to see someone push that envelope a little bit more. Such as I spotted a plate that had the word ‘food’ punched into the stainless steel plate and the fork that complimented it had small type letters saying ‘food’ on its prongs. Very cute!
i like the type, but i’m not feeling the concrete color and finish.
These plates are wonderful, but I can imagine them being a bit of a bitch to clean if used to eat from! I visited her site, and the work is so cute…especially so as she draws with her seven year old, and creates work inspired by these ‘sessions’. A brilliant artist, and even better mum! Cx
I love these plates!! I love that they are rustic with quirky sayings! so great!
I love the white on white and the use of type! LOVE LOVE LOVE them!
That “yikes” plate is so going onto the registry…
