I love Katherine’s patterned floor (#1) – how gorgeous. I’d love to know how she did that… : )
Where are the patterned curtains from in #9? Love them!
WOW! Such great entries it’s so hard to pick! I may have to choose Michelle’s though – just because I have a little dachshund too.
that floor is AH-mazing
these are all SO wonderful!
i’m very impressed and inspired. thanks to everyone who submitted a photo!
I think a few of the walls are stunning but the ingenuity of the patterned floor from Entry #1 is the most incredible.
i also completely love the floor. gorgeous!
Good lord, I love those Johnny and June roller shades. The Patsy Cline HSP poster on top of it all won my vote for #4!
Ahhhh, the Ramone’s! Where can I get Addie’s Ramone’s prints?
All great spaces – but the white pattern on the floor is gorgeous! I would love to know how Katherine did that – stencil? freehand?
i also want to hear more about michelle’s curtains. did she print them herself?
Love the RADIATOR; what a clean, fresh look for an old familiar friend. The pattern is perfect to the design of the subject.
wow, that floor is AMAZING. makes me want to rip up all my carpet right this minute and paint my own floor! wow.
katherine, where did you get that beautiful dining room table?! it’s exactly what i’ve been looking for to go with an old oak church pew I have in my dining room.
I love the silhouettes in #6! Is that wallpaper, or was it stenciled/hand done? I also love the floor in #1. It looks like that technique made a floor that ‘needed lots of love’ look stylish without the cost of refinishing.
ahhh the rock and roll prints are amazing! love them!
Stunning! I’m so torn — Katherine’s patterned floor, or Meredith’s patterned walls? What lovely inspiration….
this one is all about that floor. floor! floor! floor!
I love all these entries, especially the painted floor!
The silhouttes are so lovely. I think they are hand painted because you can see the tiny imperfections in the wall.
the floor is stellar! i’m also loving the rock and roll shades. awesome all in all, you have some hard decisions to make. good luck!
Yeah, it’s the floor. #1!! So Cool. And I love the combination of fabrics and art in Tonya’s (#5) too!
I am inspired by all these beautiful entries….just gorgeous!
xo
Melissa
It was so hard to choose just one!
the floor, of course! the others are lovely as well, but i’ve never seen a floor like that, and i’ve seen the others.
That FLOOR. So gorgeous!
Hey Janet… The Ramones and other printed window shades are available at http://www.drinkanddream.com.
Where and when can I purchase those awesome rock and roll prints?????!!!!!!!!!!!
That floor, it kicks of the ass.
Also, the last entry does a fine job with smaller examples…
[mulls it over...]
Floor!
that’s for all the lovely comments. all the entries are great!
i got inspiration from the floor for a place in mexico. I designed my own pattern and stenciled it onto cardboard. it was a lot of work, but so much fun. and you’re right jennifer, this was totally a way to pass the time on our kitchen floor until we are able to refinished it!
ps. k.a. booth. the table is borrowed from a friend while she’s traveling the world (lucky!). but, i have found some cute ones at crate and barrel! try there.
beautiful, inspiring photos –
xoxo
It’s the floor in #1 hands down for me!
Oooooh, just love the floor, and also the patterned walls. Amazing pattern & colour combos. Congrats to everyone featured!
they’re all lovely rooms, but #1 is the best use of pattern!
Meredith’s walls are AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!
Love the floor, but isn’t there some way to make it look less dirty?
Love that floor! It’s really beautiful. Also, am wondering where Tonya got her awesome bedding. Is there a name to that pattern? THanks. Really amazing stuff!
Let me chime in with the rest, because that floor is amazing.
I think I have a feeling who’s going to win this one — that floor is pretty amazing!
I have never seen anything like that floor. It’s genius! It’s so gorgeous.
these are all gorgeous inspiration pictures! i love the floor, but i am in awe of those walls!!
Thanks! I bought that bedding at Anthropologie about two years ago. It was a clearance bin score and sadly, not available anymore. But the brand is Dwell and the pattern is called Silhouette. I think you can still get a reversed version in different colors.
Shuana or anyone else who might know….
where did you get that great comforter/duvet??
its fantastic! so classic and timeless!
Shauna’s bedroom is beautiful. Lovely layers of texture, color and pattern. Good job!
# 9
Wow, these are so great. Regarding the curtains, I did print them myself with a a block print. It is hard to tell, but it is a varying stripe motif.
The floor is my fav!!
I really loved the detail in Michelle’s #9 with regard to layering contrasting patterns which created lots of warmth, texture and overall life to the piece. Great job!
i love that floor!
the others are great too :)
Where can I find that “keep calm carry on” picture hanging on the wall in #7? I love it.
# 9 it’s my favorite.
Love the colours and patterns in Michelle’s. She has an outstanding eye for detail and contrast of course the cute dog was also a winner!
No. 9. Interesting details, and the dog adds warmth and personality.
I really like the patterns and the wonderful colours!!!!I like the dog because it brings a natural and warm looking.!!!!
Michelle’s is very interesting in it’s use of color texture and placement. The dog adds the personal touch.
Wow, what a glorious feast of pattern – so hard to choose my favourite… And I may be wrong, but it seems that the design Christine has put on her radiator is inspired by one of my protea decals. What fun!
wow, I am really torn between two entries. Such talent!
I am a sucker for Johnny and June:)
I love Ashley’s silhouettes!
Heather, my design was inspired by your decals, and I gave you full credit in my description, which is not posted yet!
I REALLY LIKE PATTERNS AND THE DOG GIVES A WARMTH TOUCH TO THE PICTURES. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
I bought Johnny & June in hot pink! I vote for #4! Go, Addie!
Beautiful! I love the pattern on the the radiator it’s so simple but dramatic and so unexpected.
so much inspiration! hard between 6 and 7. love the ideas.
what a wonderful group of finalists. making a decision wasn’t easy… but, i had to go with that gorgeous floor! that is something i could love living in and live loving on ;)
I prefer Michelle’s design because I feel transported into the Danish royal family’s table, and to a very cosy and simple house at the same time… two different and complementary sensations
shauna’s patterned bedroom is BLOWING MY MIND right now. LOVE.
You have to pick that floor! What a great idea! I just love the boldness of this pattern on such a classic wooden floor!
Floor all the way!
#1-the floor! love it!
I’m not gonna lie, I am a BIG fan of that floor!
I love Catherine’s Patterned Floor!
The modern yet whimsical feel of the pattern on top of the old mismatched wood floor is perfect. What a great solution to sprucing up the floor without doing all the stripping, sanding and re staining. I would love to know how she did this!
leslie:
we fell in love with a gingham duvet that Muji made but no longer carried… so we searched for the fabric and made it ourselves. it’s such an easy project… think giant pillow case.
-shauna
#1 is my favorite!
Finalist #5: Tonya’s Patterned Bedroom
I love the patterned floor! Oh my goodness! The silhouette bathroom is amazing!
The floor! What a fun idea.
#1 Baby!!!
Hey Macy,
Here is a woman the makes the the “Keep Calm and Carry On” screenprints. World War II British I think.
I will soon have one gracing my walls too. http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5244654
How great are those?
I also love the floor … #1 it is.
#2. Radiators need design help.
the floor takes the cake fore me.
I love #9
Ayelet
I vote for #1!
#4. Iconic / humorous / witty look. Poppy pop culture at it’s finest.
I would rock these in my place.
LOVE the floor, but it was a toss-up for me between that and the silhouette bathroom.
The floor is a great look, but I love the ingenuity of the radiator – it’s sweet and perfect – #2!
Jealous much? I loved Shauna’s Patterned Bedroom!! Have left photo’s of it around to help inspire my boyfriend in our quest to re-design our loft style apartment. Hard to choose a favourite.
Hands down on the floor… I hope Catherine will give us the details, type of paint or stain, etc. Very inspiring contest, although it is hard to compare a handmade pattern with something store bought.
Shauna — where did that beautiful four-poster bed come from? I’ve been looking for one just like it!
Lori:
the bed is from Ikea!
-shauna
#4 rock n roll!!
country too!!!
this floor and the wall behind the bed are amazing…how did she do the wall?
Meredith’s patterned wall, the first one (the dining-looking room) is gorgeous. Is this done by hand or might it possibly be wallpaper? We are actually on the verge of painting a few rooms in our house. Please lemme know whether I might possibly land me some of that pattern.
Catherine’s floor is neck and neck with that one Meredith wall, though…
