one of the things that’s been interesting about running d*s over the past 4 years is trying to guess which posts will resonate strongly with readers. it’s always fun to get pictures from people who’ve bought something they saw on the site and then put in their home or see a final project that was inspired by a diy post. lately i’ve been receiving tons of feedback about the cakestand diy project that kate pruitt created for us and have had so much fun seeing everyone’s homemade versions. i’ve also been getting a lot of emails from people who’d rather buy a finished version, too- so i thought i’d share this great cake/cupcake/dessert stand from wingnut brooklyn, for those who’d like to have a handmade piece but don’t have the time to make their own. click here to pick up this $45 version, or click here to view kate’s post and create your own using found or recycled materials.

That deer looks so innocent, but you know he’s going to snatch that scone when no one is looking :)

recycling, upcycling, reuse, restyling or whatever more names it has … it is such fun … can’t live without it
i just found another ceramic artist who makes pretty cake stands…i agree it’s always best to buy a handmade piece if you don’t have time to make it yourself!
