for the past few weeks i have been seriously binging on episodes of tlc’s jon and kate plus 8 (i’m watching the “garage shelving” episode right now). i’m not sure what it is about that family that gets me but i’m ready to pack up the zip car and head out there to play with their kids. it looks like a total mad house but i love them. and that jon- what a cutie. i found myself thinking about them when i saw this great new placemat from moderntwist. designed by matte stephens (peek inside matte’s house here and here), ‘kat in the city‘ in made from a food-safe silicone that is hand silk-screened with one of matte’s designs. i’d love to send a pack of these over to jon and kate for their sextuplets- they seem so easy to clean, which would be great for kate’s ocd.

oh, grace, i SO feel you on the j&k+8 binging — i watched the little marathon on tlc last night and was enthralled. those kids are adorable and i love watching the dynamic between jon and kate!
I have been secretly obsessed with John & Kate’s show as well for a long time (my boyfriend has been watching with me also) ~ the kids are adorable and she is SO organized!… such a lovely family!

I love the lotus flower shaped ‘mats’, very pretty and unique.
My husband and I LOVE that show! Our twins are the same age as the sextuplets, so we get to see all that behavior first hand! I guess it’s funnier when it happens to someone else.

Me too, me too!–I LOVE that show and I am addicted as well. I think it has a lot to do with how charming and bright and practical Kate is and – well- John is just so endearing–not to mention all of the little personalities running around.

this is my favorite placemat of matte stephens! so cute! the bear and the owl are cool…but the city scene is my absolute fav!! plus, simon is just adorable. i miss simon!
I am a twin and I love the show. They are all so hilarious and sweet. I loved the episode with the t-shirts numbered 1-10 for their vacation.
These are cute. It would be funny if he did a ten pack of placemats of jon and kate plus their eight so when they were stacked you’d see the craziness that is that show.
i LOVE jon & kate. i think i have seen every episode. my husband now calls it “jon & kate + kelly” (me). he doesn’t get it… yet. i am sure the show will suck him in sooner or later. those kids are too cute!

I must say that this is a dynamic duo – Matte Stephens and Modern Twist! I love Modern Twist’s stuff – her placemats are really the best quality ones I have found. And then she licenses great art on top of it! Brilliant. Can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!
