i’ve got to run turk to the vet this morning but i wanted to share some beautiful wednesday morning eye-candy quickly: handmade amy ruppel fabric that was shown at a recent gallery show. there aren’t any textiles in production yet, but amy created these pieces using carved wooden blocks and rubber stamps. it’s her first foray into the fabric world but i think it’s an incredibly promising one. i’d love to see someone pick up the line and produce it so i could reupholster my favorite rocking chair. until then, you can check out more of amy’s work right here. i promise that the second i hear when/if this is going into production i’ll be sure to update.

What beautiful curtains!
gorgeous- I can’t believe the perfection she got using block printing! that is so hard!
sooo good! love this and love that she made it with stamps.
Ooo, I 2nd that design order!! Hope all is well with Sir Turk :) Give Ms. J a high paw for me!
LOVE amy ruppel and this fabric. hope your kitty is ok, grace!
This is amazing! It makes me want to try my hand at a large, multicolored print.
Amy is just an amazing artist and person in all ways. I’m sure if this new venture goes into production, that it will be a fantastic success.
ack! is turk ok?!
i would buy some of amy’s fabric in a heart beat! love her.
I seriously hope this goes into production!
Really cute design, and the colors are so fresh!
No, no, no…sorry Amy but this just isn’t going to cut it. I mean really, look at this thing…who could possibly be charmed by this? The color palette is much too cheery and sophisticated. The pattern design perfectly represents your uber-talent. Strong graphics with a folksy-modern twist. This is fabric that would definitely fly off the shelves (and right into my heart). Better luck next time ;)
Hello…gorgeous!
Amy’s designs are fabulous! LOVE!
ooh, i have a chair that is DYING to be re-upholstered in this and it’s arms and legs lacquered a bright orange.
I’m absolutely in love with that textile but, as a curtain in that window, it looks so awkward to me!
I saw these in person at her show opening last week and they are indeed lovely! The show is up for a few months for those portlanders out there!
i [heart] amy ruppel and would pee my pants if they stocked this at my local fabric store. my sewing machine would explode from all the blankies, curtains, pillow cases, laptop cozies, quilted coasters, pencil pouches, coin purses, and table runners i’d make!!! her designs translate perfectly into all sorts of sewing projects!
That has got to be the most gorgeous fabric I have seen in a looooong while!!! I’m feeling all inspired now – and my Spoonflower.com (beta) invite just arrived too…. roll on Payday!
Wow, this is beautiful!
it looks amazing…how does she manage to make everything look so easy? (i know how hard it is to do that) and wow…i am so impressed and inspired!~
Does anyone know the name of the artist from the painting to the right of the beautiful Amy Ruppel fabric in the window, great combo. I love it!
Thanks in advance
I love the colors and the pattern used…very chic.
Kimi – It looks like Amy Ruppel did the art as well.
WOW! From the picture you would never guess that it was hand stamped, especially with so many colors. That must of taken quite a while to get everything to register correctly and to do all that yardage. Very impressive!!!
