Single girl’s apartment

My last three sneak peeks were couple’s houses, so this time I wanted to write about a single person’s place. I thought My friend Jenny’s one bedroom apartment would be great for this post. Jenny is a young graphic designer so her place is very clean and simple. She has a good mix of Ikea furniture and designer furniture. I think It’s such a cute place for a single girl and her small doggie friend.

She painted this wall behind the fire place with very light brown (It appears to be light lavender color). I love how it works perfect with the texture on the wall. the big print on the fire place is from a vintage science book she found and the small print is Marc Jacobs poker cards. Brilliant!

Jenny found the gorgeous lamp from Craig’s list.

I’m jealous of her print collection. Book shelf and lamp from Ikea and dinning set from Craig’s list

IMG_0129 I couldn't get the best photo of her bedroom but it looks very nice in person. I love her Design Within Reach bed and the big art on the wall. the art is actually fabric over a canvas that Jenny made. the brown window shades are from West Elm.

She found the vintage tray from the flea market. I love the bright colors.

Jenny’s a succulent lover like me. The thrifted planters are so adorable.

I love this – uncluttered but chic and full of personality. I only wish I had had such a beautiful space when I was a single gal! Thanks for sharing Jenny :)

I am a single (well, not married or living with the BF) gal, but my apartment is nowhere near as clutter free and Jenny’s. She is an inspiration – get rid of STUFF!!

How cute! does anyone know where that tree fabric is from (art piece above the bed)? i know i have seen it before, but i don’t remember where.

I grew up with that same stem / arc lamp!…never failed, anytime a boy came over to pick me up, my parents would corral him into a chair under the lamp, so that when he stood up “Boooonnnggg!” he’d hit his head on it (winces). (We are all short enough to pass under :P)

What is the print in the white frame over the white IKEA bookcase? It looks like rooftops…love the colors?

that “vintage” tray is IKEA circa 2003… I remember buying it for my boyfriend’s mum :)

Hurrah for the single gal! I love this space, so nicely furnished and decorated. I sometimes get a bit overwhelmed by the couplesy nature of the design/interiors world, that I rejoiced when I read the intro to this post. Keep it coming!

If I’m not mistaken, that print on the bedroom wall is the Cole & Son Woods wallpaper print. Where can one get that on canvas??

thanks for the comments!

Meredith~ the print above the bookcase is by Steven Harrington http://www.stevenharrington.com/

Laura ~ Unfortunately the wallpaper doesn’t come on canvas but it was really easy to put it on. I bought a blank canvas from an art store, premixed wallpaper paste (in a tube – sells for about $6) from home depot. Then measure, cut and lay out the paper. :)
