Hello + Seaport Flowers

Hi everyone! I’m so thrilled to be guest blogging at design*sponge this week! Some of you might know me as “Brooklyn Bride“, but I guess it might be a little more appropriate to be called Brooklyn Wife since I was happily married last month. For the past year I’ve been chronicling all things I’ve found to be hip and modern for today’s bride, along with my own journey in planning my wedding. Its been an incredibly rewarding process, and I’ve met a lot of great people along the way. This week I’m going to share with you some of my favorite wedding vendors from Brooklyn, and taking any questions if you’ve got any for me. Let’s start with the all important flowers….

How could I talk about flowers without mentioning my own neighborhood florist, Seaport Flowers? Amy and her talented crew did all the flowers for my wedding, and I couldn’t have been happier. We went with a green and white scheme, keeping everything modern and architectural. I knew I wanted to use a lot of texture along with my favorites like ranunculus and my husband’s favorites, tulips. Amy took it one step further using amazing florals like the spiky Hollywood tulips and Star of Bethlehem (also known as “chinch”) for some flair. The end result was pure genius!
