charliedoes is the studio of designer and illustrator charlie brokate. based in brooklyn, charlie will be debuting several new lighting designs at this year’s bklyn designs show. i love the simple and playful nature of charlie’s lamps- especially the designs with children and bicycles. i’ll be covering the show next week, but until then you can check out more of charlie’s work right here.

Those lamps are cool as, I love the funky little old skool illustrations.
More o’the same please!
Cheers, Brett :)
i really like the barcode one! i wonder what they’re made out of…the one with the little children are great too!
I think the artist nabbed photos of my dad as a child (in the 1930s and 40s) for his lamps! The little kid and his bike are slices of all the bedtime stories I heard about his antics.
very nice. they remind me of pee chee folders…
Love the way Charlie thinks – his grasp of vernacular, and the way he can make *anything* poignant. The new lamps are even better. Luck, Charlie!
