bklyn designs: part 2

this post is a continuation of d*s’s earlier bklyn designs coverage

alright, bklyn designs part two! i wanted to kick off today’s coverage of bklyn designs with one of my favorite booths: the pratt booth. it’s always so fun to see what pratt students are up to and this year students seemed to really be focusing on re-using and re-purposing found or sustainable materials. i absolutely loved the cast porcelain lighting (above) by jennie maneri- it cast such a soft light. the rest of the work below is from pratt students- if anyone knows the names for each student designer just let me know and i’ll add them asap.

['Constellation' LED Chandelier by Kenzan Tsutakawa-Chinn]

the coat/key hook unit above is from desu design. this small rack is perfect for city dwellers who don’t have a lot of wall space but still want something sleek to hold their coats and keys. simply lift up the cover to hang items and then close to conceal the hooks.

beautiful wooden tables from ‘from the source’.

beautiful LED lighting from wang jinshen studio.

wallpaper from jill malek, pictured above. i especially loved the pink elephants.

above: uhuru design‘s incredible series of furniture made from recycled bourbon barrels.

furniture from red hook’s ‘big prototype‘. i love their zipper chair (above)- the zipper-like detailing on the side of the chair is fantastic. and their convertible dining to coffee table is just what every strapped-for-space new yorker needs.
