i’m a sucker for ceramics so i’m loving this ceramic installation by artist molly hatch. titled ‘salon familiar’ the show is a compilation of functional plates, platters and cups (all made from porcelain) hanging on porcelain ‘frames’ handmade by molly. molly’s goal was to elevate the everyday ceramics we use and consider them the way we could consider fine art hanging on the wall at a gallery. if you’re interested in the drawings on each piece, they were created with a traditional inlay technique called ‘mishima‘. for more information on molly’s work click here.

Grace!
Thank you for the lovely words about the work. I have a solo show coming up here in Denver in June and I will be making full dinner sets to hang on the wall. I will be sure to keep you and your readers posted!

I absolutely love this idea. Those tea cups are beautiful. I’ve been looking for something to decorate my new kitchen walls, and I think I may have found it!
What a pretty display for teacups. I love this!
Molly, the frames themselves are so beautiful! Can we buy them?

I am selling the frames. I only have a couple left from this show (good to sell work!) I will have a large amount of new work in June. If you are interested in the work that is still available, please email me: molly.hatch@yahoo.com
