i’ve always had a soft-spot in my heart for collage work. there’s something about all those layers of paper, color and pattern that make me smile. when we set out to redesign d*s last year collage work was the biggest source of inspiration for me- and continues to be where i draw my inspiration for for wedding. while gathering clips online for wedding decoration inspiration i’ve been focusing on collages that combine the sorts of colors and textures i’d like to use next year- and designer nicola starr‘s portfolio is full of fantastic ideas. based in the uk, nicola is a recent graduate of the london college of communication with a major in illustration. in addition to more straight-forward illustration, her portfolio boasts a wonderful collection of collages that combine photography, illustration and found materials. i love all of the reds in her work and hope that when we settle down to pick out our wedding decorations and details they can be half as lovely as nicola’s work. click here for more information on nicola and to view her full portfolio.
