I just made this today for a baby shower, except I used cranes. Everyone loved it! And it was fairly quick to put together. My only problem was that it seemed to tangle very easily. Next time I’ll have to make the strings a bit shorter and hopefully that will help. Thanks for the how-to!

I am always talked into purchasing something from school sales, so during holidays I buy a roll or two of wrapping paper, (not necessarily holiday style), and the quality is very nice. I use some of it behind photos on display and I’m sure it would be beautiful for one of the mobiles!

I love this idea. I want to make one for a friend at work who is pregnant. As a baby, my uncle gave me an origami mobile that he bought in Japan. I remember it hanging above the crib of my younger brother and sister. The mobile was probably put in the trash years ago… Thank you for reminding of this cherished childhood memory.

I love this mobile! I’ve only ever made the cranes, but I would love to try it and give it as a gift to someone. I might like to try some transparent vellum so it could still hold a crease, but may have some transparent qualities. Very special!

This is exactly what I needed! I’ve recently designed origami papers at Chronicle Books, and wanted to make origami mobile for my 8-week-old niece Madeline. I have origami rabbit, horse, birds and flowers. I can’t wait to put them together. Thank you for the instruction!
