wow, this is just beautiful! great job…
How did they change the color of the bathroom sink and toilet, love it!
i was wondering that about the colour too! Liking the cat pillows!
That is due to poor photography in the before, I’m afraid. The color of the toilet and sink were actually one of the reasons we liked the house to begin with. We did change the seat to white though :)
The cat pillows are available in my etsy shop. http://www.chezlarsson.etsy.com
I just love Benita’s home. I featured it on my blog because it is so wonderfully organized.
I am wondering how they changed the color of the sink as well…
I am smitten with that green polka dot fabric! It looks like there’s a twin bench on the other side of the wall, too…
Yea! How they do that! So impressive! Everything looks wonderful!
that toilet is the cutest; love the lid. I’m also wondering, is that the same sink? how in the world did they change the color OR find the same sink in a different color? I’m so stumped.
I love Thursdays! I so look forward to the before & afters.
This out does my B&A expectations. Lovely.
I’m glad they kept the sink, I’d hate to have seem then get rid of something so original.
TGIT!
Having done 5 gut renovations, you’re never supposed to block a radiator. No covers, no putting heavy furniture in front of it, etc. Doing so will cause a big increase in your heating bill, because the radiator isn’t heating the room eficiently, and the residents will then turn up the thermostat. This does need to be taken into account equally with the look of a place…
Am I the only one who doesn’t like the green toilet? Though the hardware itself is different and interesting, the color completely turns me off. Looks a little 1970s to me. Everything else looks absolutely amazing though. Kudos on it all.
Lisa,
I’ve been having a similar problem, because my living room would look much better if I covered the radiator with the couch. Now we’re contemplating having separate summer and winter setups.
You really can’t go wrong with a mint colored toilet and sink!
Amazing photos…
We had no choice but to place the bed against the radiator in the bedroom because there’s no room to put it anywhere else . We opted to give our son the master bedroom so he had space for all his toys.
The radiator is never on though, not even in winter. If it were on there are grommeted holes at the front to let warm air out and a bigger gap at the top which you can’t see in the photo. There’s also a large 8″ gap at the bottom by the floor under the bed.
So we did think about it but turns out never have to use the radiator :)
Hi Lisa,
The radiator in the bedroom is not in use. But if we want to use it there is a very good airflow from under the bed and up through a slit in the windowsill (not seen on the photo).
And as Benita said: the colour on the sink has not changed. The first photo is old and scanned. Benita shot it when we first wiewed the house as a note for future decisions (to buy, or not to buy…).
I love the bench cushion and am looking for something similar for an old linen chest so it can double as seating. Any recommendations for a good place that does custom indoor cushions with great fabrics?
Benita–
Love your style! Your square patterned floor looks great. Was wondering if you have any color combo ideas for a floor like that in my laundry room. It has Hawthorne Yellow (Benjamin Moore) walls and tall white trim. Thanks for your help!
