Welcome, Jena from Modish!

Hi! I’m Jena, nice to meet you! I’m so excited and honored to have been asked to guest blog here, thank you Grace! I’m lucky enough to spend my days full time writing a blog called Modish, which focuses exclusively on
handmade goods and the wonderful folks who create them. I also have a Modish: Handmade Goods shoppe selling items by some of my favorite indie designers and that keeps me super busy. I’ve been making things since I was a wee tike, so I love being able to help give more exposure to fellow artists and crafters and fill my days with loads of inspiration.

Since I write about handmade goods, you can assume I’m an etsy addict, which is true, and etsy is by far my favorite place to buy art. I realize though that as etsy grows by leaps and bounds (which is a good thing!) it gets harder and harder to navigate through and find what you’re looking for- the art category alone has over *8000* items in it! So, this week I’m here to help by bringing you my favorite affordable art pieces, all by etsy artists, all under $50! Yay! I hope to introduce you to some artists you’ve never heard of before, remind you of those you may have forgotten about and show you how easy (and inexpensive!) it can be to color your walls.

Speaking of color, since today is St. Patty’s day, we gotta start with art that’s in my favorite shade, green:

Orchard Twins print by Art & Ghosts $20

Hedgehog Series- original paintings by Jaguarman Hedgehog Camp $18 each

Where You Rest Your Head- limited edition print by Wolfie and the Sneak $18.

Chased and Unafraid
print by Dkim $30

Woman in a Patterned Jacket print by Still Room Studio $25 [Top Image at the Beginning of the Post]

Ridge after Ridge photo by Under the Sugar $35

I’ll be back tomorrow to introduce you to some of my favorite painters. See you then!

I love Renee’s work (Wolfie and the Sneak)- we have a couple of her paintings in our house and it always brightens my day to see them.

what a lovely collection! i rarely take the time to explore etsy like i should, which is a real shame… i’m so glad that there are people with fabulous taste willing to find great work for the rest of us. megxx
