‘Can i take some pictures of your store‘ i asked …. ‘sure , go ahead‘ Vivian said.
My first favorite place i thought of is Vivian Hann‘s store , located at the Haarlemmerdijk 102 in Amsterdam . She has had the store for almost 10 years and that’s how long i can remember it , because i lived in that area then. Vivianne sells the most beautiful porcelain, dinnerware , cutlery , table linens and what makes it special is that she also sells design by independant designers like Aldo Bakker , Margit Seland. And Vivian really loves the things she’s selling , you can feel her enthousiasm when you step into her store and by seeing how delicate she presents the pieces and talks about them.

and she sells stuff from big companies like Dibbern and Mono

Well the reason for me to go and find nice places in Amsterdam has something to do with the first time i did a guest appearance. Irene of Bloesem asked 5 favorite bloggers to show their favorite designs , places etc. and i only talked about how much i loved Antwerp (Belgium). I didn’t say a word about Amsterdam , but this is where i live. It was a search for places that give me the feeling i belong here…i’ll tell you my conclusions tomorrow.

Restaurant Amsterdam

Now Restaurant Amsterdam is a beautiful place to me. Because it is spacious , it feels industrial and the atmosphere is relaxed . It was build in 1897 to house a big pomping station to get water from the dunes to Amsterdam. In 1996 it became a resaurant. I haven’t been there in years because it’s not in my area but after seeing this picture , i’m planning to go their again when it’s warm enough to sit outside.

And i want to revisit the star ferry restaurant because i’m hoping it is a good place for the summer. As you can see in this picture and this picture . The view is beautiful , the food was very nice, just don’t go there when it’s dark , the lighting gives you a headache.

What is new in my neighbourhood is MARQT , i took a picture when it opened. They are selling organic food , mostly from local farmers

Our neighbourhood is spicing up in the more expensive types of shops , we normally eat at RIAZ because the food is very nice . It’s food from the Suriname

And i completely forgot about restaurent LOF on the Haarlemmerstraat 62 , close to vivan’s store…..sorry no picture. I ‘ll go back to take some pictures.
