this morning i’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about naturals- materials, colorways and themes. between trying to design a banner/signage for the design*sponge collective at the brooklyn flea (i think i’m going with white calligraphy on top of brown kraft paper) and oggling the cork-themed website for local 11 ten (who i’d love to cater our wedding if we get married in savannah), i’ve got natural colors and materials on the brain. so today’s installment of things i’m loving is a collection of natural materials like straw, cork, wood and caning. sources for each piece are below.
[image above, clockwise from top left: 1890's malachite clover brooch $295, baja tote $40, natural vintage notebook $7, magnetic cork pin cushion $10, lisa dejohn vines notebook $11.75, marimekko coin purse $15, magno wooden radio $250, vintage vanity stool $149, vintage caned benches by baker at 1stdibs, braided belt $10]

Oh, I *need* that clock!
It would be fantastic to read about planning a wedding in savannah. As a local, you couldnt pic a more gorgeous, welcoming locale!
Great finds…I love the straw tote!
I love the natural notebook – the best thing about it is that it has NO LINES inside. Perfect for those of us who like free form journaling. :-) Now if only the giraffe one were in stock…
Grace: Absolutely right. I’ve been into au naturale lately, as well; in particular, the combination of wood and cream accessories. Likewise, I’ve been thinking in tans and taupes accented with teals and oranges. Something new for me. I’ve posted some photos of my recent acquisitions at Living Small. Is it spring that’s influencing these sartorial selections?
love this set! and that local 11 ten site…wow! -joy
Okay, I’ll take one of everything :)
i love your taste and i get inspired everyday i come here. love the notebooks and the vanity stool, have a great day!
I am a big fan of naturals. Thank you for this nice grouping. Must say I am not yet prepared for the return of the woven/braided look. But it appears to be making a comeback!
