erin ruth + good morning america

for the past few weeks i’ve been scouring the internet for great eco-friendly home designs under $100. in addition to being the theme of my last domino column, it will be the the theme of my segment on good morning america! i was thrilled to be invited on good morning america’s “ready, set shop” series for next wednesday where i’ll be talking about all things green at home. now that my list of products to show has been approved, i keep finding pieces i wish i could have fit in the segment. at the top of that list is this gorgeous eco-friendly gift wrap from designer erin ruth. she recently introduced a new series of patterns that i’m majorly digging. all of erin’s papers are made from 50% recycled paper and are printed using soy inks. i’m loving the new yellow and white pattern- it’s perfect for spring diy projects. want to pick up some erin ruth paper of your own? click here to check out her full collection and shop online (each roll runs around $9).

How exciting that you’ll be on tv! What time should we all tune in?

grace

Grace, be sure to check out my site, http://www.trendbites.com; I’ve been doing a series on the latest in sustainable product as a consequence of going to the housewares show….there’s been some real progress made in this area and clearer specifications on what makes something sustainable which I’ve tried to cover blogstyle…you know without boring people but still giving the scoop. Good luck with your hunt. I especially liked the gift wrap that is compostible; most defintely an area that needs more sustainable product….all that giftwrap at Christmas including the shopping bags makes me cringe.

grace, this paper is gorgeous! i think i’m going to purchase some and make the diy key rack you posted a few weeks back. so pretty — ooh, and can’t wait to see you on gma.

Can’t wait to see the segment! The paper is kinda blah for my taste. Haven’t we all seen this kind of design before? I’m all for the eco bit but make it fresh and new.

Good luck with your TV segment Grace! I’m sure you’ll be a pro at it!

Grace!
You’re such a ROCK STAR!! That’s so cool that you’re going to be on TV! Do keep us posted on the air date!

Hi Grace,
Congrats on the upcoming TV spot. I hope you can mention that the greenest thing you can do for your home, as far as accessories go, is to not buy anything. But if they must, then the green accessories are a good bet!

susan

whee! how fun! that is so wonderful!
will have to find out when so i can hop over to a friend’s tv!
good luck!

liz

congratulations on the gma spot! that is wonderful for you – i’ll be able to say i read you when!

Erin

That is wonderful about gma! I will be sure to tune in. This gift wrap is beautifully designed, but it is ironic that even though it was made with recyclable materials it is still a disposable product. This is “green” product but not a sustainable idea.
