2008 diy winners: 2nd place


well, we’re almost to the top! this year’s 2nd place winner in the 2008 d*s diy contest belongs to suzanne norris of sakura snow. her beautiful woodland mural was an instant personal favorite but it looks like it was a crowd favorite as well. talk about a total makeover- suzanne’s diy mural transformed her bedroom into a forest wonderland, complete with owl paintings that feature glow-in-the-dark eyes. suzanne is the winner of a check for $450! suzanne was kind enough to share her step-by-step process with if you’d like to try her project in your home just click here for the full instructions! congrats, suzanne!

what a great contest–i’m so glad this one made it into the top three! i can’t imagine how many hours this took her, but it came out great.

this room is crazy cool! I love love love the owl and the symetrical trees framing the window! What a great use of such a uniquely structured room.

I wanted to ask. Where is the owl in the painting? I can’t seem to find it on the wall.

sorry, from the instructions it seems the owl is moveable.
