i’m always thrilled to find out any of my favorite actors or actresses are secretly design-obsessed like i am. so i was excited to see a new ‘style compass‘ column on 1st dibs yesterday about the actress rachel griffiths. you may remember her most recently as brenda on hbo’s six feet under (i still think she should have ended up with nate over that quaker chick) but as it turns out- she’s a huge modern design fan. rachel put it best when she said, “it’s so much more exciting to think about dressing a room than dressing myself.” i couldn’t agree more- especially when you look at the photos (shot by richard powers) of her beautiful home. click here to check it out.

I just finished watching season one of Six Feet Under on Sunday. I love Brenda…err, Rachel and am so glad you featured her home on here. But did you have to tell me she and Nate don’t work out!?!
She’s now on Brothers and Sisters on Sunday night. She’s great and that show is an excellent, highly addictive guilty pleasure!

Courtney Baker, you couldn’t have said it better. I miss the cast of SFU as I miss dead loved ones. And I’m convinced in my next life, Nate Fisher will be my husband.
I miss Brenda so much. That Quaker thing was so random, and that girl BUGGED! Anyway, she does a MUCH better job of dressing rooms than she does herself – the year she won the Golden Globe her dress was a disaster, but I loved her for that. The whole Rachel Zoe/no one having their own style thing in Hollywood has become very tiresome. Does one really have style if a stylist styles them? tawk amongst yourselves.
