i’m riding on a plane back to new york right now so i’m posting this after an incredible biz lady meetup in seattle. thanks to everyone who came out tonight- it was fantastic. if any of the attendees are looking for the PR notes, they’re right right here. in other news there’s a wonderful show taking place at art stream studios on march 7th called “stories and tales” with mixed media paintings and sculptures by artists abby glassenberg, darryl berger, alena hennessy and tara hogen. you can find more information right here- i’m really smitten with abby’s bird sculptures. so fun! i’ll be back on monday with regular content and tons of pacific northwest fun- until then here are this week’s highlights:

Grace, it was a pleasure to meet you and your talk on PR was really useful and inspiring. All the guest speakers were excellent, though I was most thrilled to meet John Tusher, who was kindness and helpfulness personified.

Another ‘thank you’ for organizing such a chock-full event. I went to every speaker and even ones that didn’t directly apply to me were inspiring and had great, useful information. I’m definitely interested in continuing sharing info with other creative women in the Seattle area.

the biz ladies meetups are about providing free advice on a number of business-related topics to women running their own design-based businesses.
i travel to different cities and we have 4 speakers at each event to cover PR/markting, wholesale/retail, business/legal and then a local artist to discuss the real life aspects of running your own business.
last year we opened up a poll to see which cities people wanted be to go to. baltimore was on there but sadly it wasn’t in the top 6. i pay for these all out of pocket so i have to limit the amount of cities i do each year. hopefully next year baltimore will be on the list ;)
