jennifer at city projects sent over a link to a wonderful video series featuring innovative artists from around the country. in conjunction with USA (united states artists), city projects produced video shorts profiling artists and their work. the series, encounter: USA fellows, currently includes 8 live videos- with 6 more to come this spring. my favorite belonged to artist tanya aguiñiga who we’ve covered on d*s several times. her short includes some interesting on thoughts on what it means to say a product is “made by a woman” and what living in tijiuana taught tanya about materials and function. you can click here to view the first 8 videos or click play above to view tanya’s video. thanks to jennifer for sending this over- it’s great to find another organization that’s giving back to artists in america (each year USA awards 50 artists with a grant of $50,000).
[more video fun at the dallas morning news right here. it's an animated valentine's day card roundup. so fun]

This is inspiring, thank you so much. Will have to keep my eye out for Tanya :)
Tanya is AMAZING!!! She truly is…we’ve been fortunate enough to have had her Forest Log Roll in the shop. She’s definitely one to watch and one to read up on…now. Her backround and life story is quite interesting. We can’t say enough good things about this gal.
thanks for this wonderful link! watching tanya talk about her work is powerful and inspiring. this is why i come to good ol’ designsponge over, and over, and over again…
