caroline at jcaroline creative sent in this fantastic before and after project- complete with an online tutorial. you may remember her gorgeous blue chair from a few weeks back, but this week it’s all about fabric. caroline explained, “okay, so i’m obsessed with furniture re-dos right now. so i did a fabric decoupage on some nightstands that were spray painted black. the nightstands were part of my goodwill shopping spree and i got them for $5 each. the black with a pain to cover, but several coats of primer and paint later, they would be a cheery addition to any child’s room. the fabric is michael miller’s orchid ‘feeling groovy’ and i have a tutorial for the whole project here.” great work caroline! thanks for sharing.

i love it so much!
i am so ADDICTED to these before and afters ! i think its b/c they’re mostly smaller projects and they so inspirational – like a little vitamin B shot of DIY inspiration.
Wow, that’s incredible!
Great work, and very inspiring — thanks so much for sharing!
oh dear, i think that pattern would give me a headache.
not a fan of the fabric or the color, but a fun project nonetheless…
Great job! love the colour combinations..but I would have chosen purple or black drawer knobs…having said that I’m inspired to do the same to a couple of old pieces of my own!
What a lovely idea!
just the ticket to hide all of those fingerprints and smudges. i love the stripes inside the drawers.
That is one fantastic job. I don’t think I have the patience for something like this. But I so admire those who do.
I especially love the fact that she did the inside of the drawers.
These are terrific; I think this is the perfect inspiration to get back out to the thrift stores… This may be one of the first before & after pieces I think I would really like to do.
I adore the fabrics and colors, and am so appreciative for the detailed information and instructions!
Ohh! I love! These are so inspiring! This makes me want to dress up all my furniture!
i have to say i find the color and pattern garish. I’m not trying to be negative, just trying to put in a different point of view. but if you just want a constant love fest i understand. :)
great thought, I think I’d personally prefer the older touch rather than the patterned furniture, perhaps all the patterns I’d like would be for placemats and other little things around the house. Her blog I enjoy a ton though, specially those pillows i

This is just fantastic, there is nothing like taking something old and revamping it, this was a great project and nicely done on the price, it is a little bit busy for me but it looks stunning
