Sandra and I went for a fika at a classic Swedish café named Brogyllen. You can say that both Sandra and I work from home and then it is nice to get out and see/meet some people. I think meeting in a café is a very good way to see each other, it can be just as short or long as you like. When I meet Sandra it is always a long fika :) This time Sandra drank tea and I had a caffe latte with a Semla. They are only available from now to easter. I usually eat a lot of
them… like 6-8. I think if they were available all year I would probably eat less. Here is a receip, but I warn you they are goooood! There is a Fika pool on flickr.

We talked and talked, after a while we got hungry and went home to Sandra’s and mr J’s place for lunch. He’s a very good cook. Eating and listen to music, totally forgetting about time and work. I guess that is how it should be. When they escorted me home the first snow had been falling. Next time she will teach me how to knit socks!

sandra: beautiful as ever!
Oh how I wish we had “fika” here in the US. So civilized and lovely. Instead we take 15 min lunch breaks whilst choking down some over-processed something…oh, and while working! (Sorry…I clearly feel a bit strongly about this, huh?)
Anyway, Camilla…looks like you had such a nice day. A nice mental escape for me…thank you! :)
sa himla gott det ser ut. o mysmysmysigt!
your semla looks huge in that photo! but very tasty… wish I could drop by for a fika.
I agree with Uncle Beefy, it’s a shame that we don’t take time for a fika every day here in the US. Sadly, I eat my lunch and drink my coffee at my computer, mouse in one hand…
Hooray for your guest blog here, Camilla! :) I always love looking at your site, and it’s so nice to read more words from you to accompany all of the photos.
Ah! I had a lovely fika at Brogyllen about 8 years ago while visiting a dear friend in Göteborg. We had the most delicious cardamom buns…mmm.
I agree with Uncle Beefy – we need fika in the US!
