yesterday i heard from ivie parker, a partner at the charleston, sc design firm parker-sims interiors. she sent over this beautiful new bed they just debuted called the driftwood bliss bed. after my wood hook/spoon/napkin ring kick yesterday i thought it would be fun to continue with the theme.
the driftwood bed has a custom, hand-crafted bed frame made from pre-existing pieces of driftwood from the shores of south carolina. it’s always so nice to see people using local products to create their work. since i’m on a cabin kick lately i’d love to upholstery that stretch of wood at the foot with something soft and plaid, maybe a nice neutral plaid like my chair. it would be my dreamy cabin napping place. you can click here to find more information on parker-sims interiors or to contact them about purchasing one of their driftwood beds. [thanks, ivie!]

Such a lovely bed (and aptly named).
this one of the most stylish ways i’ve seen the use of driftwood in furniture.
My friend actually made one of these beds with lower posts, and I bought it from him when he moved. When I moved from the bay area last summer I tried to sell it and no one wanted it. I gave it to my neighbor. Sad…
this bed reminds me of s bed that a friend of mine makes.

he has a whole line of “rusticated, post-agricultural, contemporary furniture” to go with it.
What a fabulous bed! I don’t think it would fit in to well with my home now, but wow! That is so fun!
Wow! That bed is gorgeous and would be perfect for my house. Thanks for the tip!
I like the painting above the bed. Anyone know who it’s by?

Anyone know anything about the chair? I have the exact same chair as a rocking chair from a garage sale, and have always wanted to find more.
we got that antique wooden chair from a friend’s boutique, Surround, on King Street in Charleston…843.722.0094
The painting was part of a recent show at the Treasure Nest Art Gallery in Charleston. I regularly send new paintings to the gallery if anyone is interested.
Would anyone know a driftwood bed that has lower posts that would look great with beach decor? I’m having the hardest time finding a good bed to go with it.
I love this bed. I want to make one!
This is a beautiful bed! For anyone who loves driftwood, I am an artist who crafts functional pieces from local driftwood, including headboards or anything else you can imagine.
