This morning Morran and I went to visit Bibbi Forsman‘s ceramic studio for the first time. I’m talking and walking about Gothenburg, Sweden :) I knew Bibbi before, but since this blogging thing started we see each other more frequently and much easier. Her studio is located in this fantastic “artist area” called Konstepidemin, a former epidemic hospital, now studio space for about 150 professional artists. There is also several galleries and The Children’s Academy.
I really like when you can feel that someone has cared a lot about the shape and the material. Someone is loved this piece when they made it. That’s a feeling I get when I look at Bibbi’s work. One ceramic artist who has touched her heart is Juno Kaneko. Here is an article about him.

this is the greatest post–so nice to be taken into bibbi’s warm world… her work is so soft of edges and textural; love the colors and the shapes–to know how much passion and love and hard work go into each beautiful object…and the glazes… hundreds of intelligent and intended touches! I love this. Very sculptural–those meditating heads are wonderful!

You know, those vegetables look so real I was gonna ask you in what grocery store you can buy them and if there were any recipes with them. I think that’s a pretty good sign of a great artist. So realistic!
