room divider roundup

screens_1.JPG
d*s readers jessica, caroline and stacey asked if i would build a room divider guide asap for some guests they had coming into town. room dividers run the gamut from screens and hanging panels to full on storage units. i’ve chosen my favorites above and below but i always suggest using fabric to create an inexpensive divider panel. you can pick up inexpensive fabric at repro depot, purl soho, ikea and hancock and then use wire or curtain rods to hang them between spaces. have an idea that isn’t listed here? feel free to add it in the comment section below. there are six more slides after the jump so click here for the full post or click “read more” below.

These are beautiful. I’m going to be looking for some inspiration for our DIY room dividers that I plan on making soon, so this really helps. I wish I had the money to shell out on these pretty ones, though!

I love the “algues”…algae? So cool. Wouldn’t that be fun to put in a small studio apartment…give it that “mossy” appeal. This is a great guide. Are the Lily Yung ones felt?

grace

cakespy-

yup! the lily yung piece is die-cut felt.

and algues is french for algae. the bouroullecs are french ;)

over a year after your post and I am just now finding it perfectly suitable to my life today :) My fiance and I have a tiny apartment and are inheriting one big bed and he wants to put it into the living room… I told him maybe, and only if we can find modern chic affordable room dividers :) So glad you popped up in my google search, in between lots and lots of cheesy asian inspired room dividers :)

What a great collection! As an artist, I’ve always thought room dividers would be a fun medium in which to work. I just wish I had a place to put one!
