d*s reader gwendolyn sent in this fantastic before and after project. she found the chairs on the side of the road; the turquoise vinyl seats and green enamel were melting together so she stripped the green off and applied a danish oil finish to the oak. then she added foam padding to the cushions because there was only a bizarre layer of wood pulp covering the seat under the vynil. after she added the foam, gwendolyn staple-gunned fabric over it and was finished! this definitely inspired me to do a little cruising for curb-side treasures while i’m home for the holidays. thanks for sharing, gwendolyn!

Amazing work. x
kudos gwendolyn!
fabulous! where did she get the fabric?
ditto! where’s the fabric from? i have some dining chairs i’m doing the same thing with and i am absolutely stuck on the fabric…
I’m pretty sure that fabric is Waverly Essence in Quartz. And it looks really sweet on those chairs!
LOVE IT!
Fabric was purchased from Joanne Fabrics.
