Hi there, my name is Lisa Congdon. I am an artist and illustrator living and working in San Francisco and co-owner (with the amazing Rena Tom) and gallery director of a design-led retail shop called Rare Device, also in San Francisco. I maintain a blog about my life in art and design and am very active in the world of flickr photography. I am really excited to be guest blogging on design*sponge this week! Thank you, Grace!
My point of view this week is inspired by four primary colors. I have a “small” obsession with color; I am particularly interested in both grouping like colors together and in playing with unusual palettes of mixed colors— in my artwork, in my store displays and in my home. This week I am going to feature art and design around four colors—one each day:
-Monday: Red
-Tuesday: Blue
-Wednesday: Yellow
-Friday: Green
(Taking Thursday off for turkey!)
These four colors are my inspiration this week, but they are by no means the end. The images I post each day will share the “color of the day” in common. However, what I link to (if you choose to “click”) will enter you into a world of many colors–and hopefully new discoveries. I will feature a wide array of design—from graphic design to fine art and photography, craft to interiors, industrial design to home décor. My posts will be short; I will let the images speak for themselves for the most part.
