julia at remodelista sent over these photos of actress julianne moore‘s gorgeous west village home (designed by made llc). so now not only to i greatly envy her beautiful red hair, but her house as well. i love all the wood and exposed brick. it feels very new york, but with country (thanks in part to those stunning wide-plank wooden floors). more on the home right here.

these pics look like they were taken from the The World of Interiors story on her/her house. But yeah, sigh…
Her home is beautiful! I love the blues and browns.
i LOVE that kitchen!
THE BAHTROOM! I CAN KILL FOR A BATHROOM LIKE THAT!
Are you serious?? That is ridiculously nice.
Really love what appears to be the office, the living room is a nice balance of those cool greys with warm woods, and the bathroom, well c’mon, it’s fantastic. Like the fact that it doesn’t look too Hollywood or designer-y. Still has a nice personal feel.
might be my favorite celebrity home yet. looks so warm and lived-in.
Love love love the bathroom. Emma, you and I might have to duel over it if the time comes…
I concur with Jasmine – so far my favorite celebrity home. very cozy and lovely and not overly ‘designed’ – it feels like a home… i quite like it.
Seriously – could that whole place be any cooler????
and she clearly has GREAT taste in rocking chairs!
this is the most beautiful place I have seen here- minimalish but incredibly tactile and warm without being hot! You can see the careful decisions in every part and yet it doesnt feel labored over- simple forms and quality materials-Im swooning
those cool greys are so peaceful on the eyes. such a break from our color-saturated world!
Uncle Beefy is right…Great balance of greys & dark wood. Love how the living room looks, well, LIVED IN. It’s personal and casual– and doesn’t appear like the typical celebrity home you see in architectural digest.
..
Wow – That is the coolest bathroom. This is one of best lived in looking homes I have seen in a long time. I love the chairs. I am going to save these pics for future references.
These photos plus a few more made the front cover of TWOI May 2006 issue. The decor can do no wrong for me. I pull this issue out from time to time just to take in the splendor of it
all.
hey Grace, isn’t that your rocker in the LR?
I love her house very much. To be honest, I dislike most Hollywood homes. It’s often just too much, over the top, and I guess as a European girl I’m just not used to the fact that everything in the US seems to be huge: the beds, the sofas, the refrigerators… But this interior looks really subtle and balanced. Just love it!
Every time I think I can’t love her any more, she goes and proves me wrong.
That much cool shouldn’t be allowed in one person.
anyone have any ideas what color is used on the living room walls?
Definitely an example of a well-done celebrity home. Understated, relaxed, elegant and an tactful admission of help from a designer. Julliane has great taste (though I can’t help but think the colour scheme – green tinged blue – has got to have something to do with calling attention to her notorious hair colour. It seems even she is obsessed with her red locks.
This is a house/apt that I can both envy and also can actually see living in (Ah, if only) She really is the coolest. Now there’s proof.
If anyone is after the barstools in the kitchen I have 2 exactly the same but in black and walnut for sale.
i’d love to know the designer of these barstools. they look brazilian…
