San Francisco furniture designer, Rosie Hanna creates exquisite furniture from wood laminate and glue. Rosie builds a “log” through a series of laminations of wood and red-dyed glue and then sculpts two cubes from one log. Her process grew from experimenting with sanding and carving wood laminations over curved surfaces. “My process is a little like digging a ditch with a tablespoon,” says Rosie about making her cubes. Hanna is a 2006 graduate of the California College of the Arts, and a classmate of the equally talented Courtney Skott.

Never mind that we admire the amazing process Rosie goes through to create these functional wood forms; we at Rare Device also they are pretty darn hot looking; check them out in person in our San Francisco shop.
