based in vermont, pikku (which means little or tiny in finnish) is a fantastic design studio run by valerie ormiston. pikku debuted their first collection at the national stationery show this year, which included wrapping paper, hand-stitched and letterpressed note cards, and silk-screened birch calendars. i love the handmade feel of their work and the little details like stitching. it’s wonderful to see so many designers returning to simpler patterns and handmade details, rather than the creating more computer-generated clip art-style designs. you can view pikku’s full collection right here and find a retailer near you by clicking “where to shop” on the home page. [thanks, valerie]

Whoa! House and Garden just folded! What a surprise…
I am having trouble getting to the home page for pikkuwares.com. Do you have a link to that page that I can try?
Thank you very much!
This is one of my absolute favorite new paper designers! Gorgeous
I checked all the shop listings, but none of them seem to sell online. Do you know if there are any online retailers — particularly of the calendar? Thanks!
So why not make these into fabric & wall coverings? The designs are beautiful.
yes… I second that request… has anyone found an online vendor, esp for the calendars?
Beautiful, beautiful work. Lovely, clean design, with perfect color combination. Definally one of my favorite finds of all!
