i’m such a big fan of lindsey adelman. when i first started design*sponge she was one of the first artists i covered. i liked her so much i saved up and comissioned a coral illustration from her. one of lindsey’s trademark techniques is making drawings from human hair she collects from family and friends. even reading that last sentence creeps me out, but the results are absolutely gorgeous. this time lindsey also created a video project to go with the drawings, a ficticious “making of” the hair drawings. you can check it all out at platform (529 w 20th street, 4th floor, nyc) starting this thursday through november 3rd. for more information click here.

Grace,
Thanks for sharing ! I read about her in your sneak peek and my first thought was “Hugh!” but thenI looked for her work , I read her artist statement , and this story -about this family who had lost a child and commissioned her-really touched me and her work makes sense , along with being very beautiful and delicate .Thank you .
