Full Spectrum Paint

colmain1.jpg
Those of you looking to add some new colors to your walls, here is another option – full spectrum paints. Thanks, to my friend Russell, I was browsing Wilsonart Internationals website who has a nice article on these paints. Full spectrum paints use a mix of pigments to achieve a certain color instead of using black and grey to get the paint to a specific color value. If you are tired of dull flat looking walls these paints could be the answer. They do cost more, but many users say that you can get by on just using one coat to cover your walls because of how thick the paint is. If you want to know more about these paints and the companies that offer them click here.

These paints have a beautiful finish, quite matt and chalky but no way can you only get away with using one coat, for the lighter colours I have always needed at least three coats- its really expensive but worth it!

interesting. anita rui-olds wrote about how to make *any* paint full-spectrum in her book “child care design guide”. i used her advice when i chose my home’s paint colors (and my school’s).
