Sydney was also home to an Australian Design Legend – Florence Broadhurst – whose murder in 1977 still remains a mystery today. Since her death Florence has been under some scrutiny over the ownership of her designs yet her name and the designs she is known for worldwide are one of Australia’s most successful both 30 years ago and today. Nowdays her fabrics and wallpapers are hand restored & hand printed by Signature Prints. Their showroom and Printing Studio is located in Sydney and they do offer tours by appointment to both student groups and the general public through their amazing Printing Studio. I love that this range of fabrics and wallpapers is purely Australian as there are so few successful Australian fabric houses and whenever I see a Broadhurst fabric or wallpaper used in a room by an International designer I immediately feel immensely proud!
