kirsten hassenfeld is showing her amazing paper artwork at the rice university gallery. if you are lucky enough to be in the area this is a must-see show. rice describes the show, dans la lune, as, “for dans la lune (a french idiom referencing day-dreaming) large structures, resembling gigantic droplets or the onion domes of russian architecture, are draped with clusters and strands of faceted, gem-like forms. lit from within, they transform the gallery into a glowing treasure trove.” oh how i wish i was in texas. click here for more information (the show is on now through december 9).

gorgeous! kirsten is one of my favorite artists.
I’t so~~~~~~~goooood!
I drove once through an ice-encrusted fairyland in Austria, after an ice storm … this work is the only “woman-made” rendering I’ve seen that ever came close to capturing that singular, crystalline natural event ~ I can almost hear the “tinkling” of the ice!!!!!!
I would love to see these in person!
wow…that is the coolest thing I have seen in a long while…I wish I could see it in person. Thanks for the picture, so gorgeous and fairytale like.
