windows and walls by Grace Bonney 15

rapture and wright

i’m helping a friend pick out wallpapers for her bathroom and we’re trying to decide between these two, very different, prints from rapture and wright. i love their handprinted papers (and textiles) and think either of these would be lovely. something about the soft butter yellow makes me think it would be perfect for a small space like her bathroom but maybe the bold pattern would make the little room pop. has anyone worked with these before? my vote is for the yellow…

I vote yellow as well. Especially if the toilet and tub and trim are all white. It’ll be nice and fresh and light.

The other print is lovely as well, and I’d go with that if I was interested in matching tile or textiles in the room. I still vote yellow.

am with you … i think between the two Yellow is the best choice.. most importantly since the bathroom is generally a not so big room i think a bright and lighter color would be more suited…

I vote yellow too. It’s a lovely colour and print and would be ideal for a small space. If the bathroom fittings are white then it will work with them too. The other print is a little overbearing and a pretty gross colour to use in a bathroom!

yellow would be gorgeous. there’s something about the pattern that looks slightly like congregating soap bubbles… i think it would be beautiful in a bathroom.

Yellow. The other print, while zippy, may close in on the person in the room. The layered, slightly translucent pattern of the yellow pulls you right into the walls like there’s another dimension underneath. Very intriguing.

Yellow all the way, I feel the other may be too dark for a bathroom, the yellow is so cheerful, love it!

While it’s hard to say for sure without seeing the space, my immediate inclination is towards the yellow.

I like the yellow one for a bathroom. In fact I want it for my bathroom

I vote yellow. It’s something about its freshness that relates to bathrooms.
