facets

i’ve always had a thing for faceted designs- i love the way that adding a geometric edge to things can make you reevaluate or rediscover a traditional shape. this mame-yakko rose fabric at repro depot is such a nice example of how using angles and geometric shapes can update a traditional look. though they’re not fully faceted or 3-d, the geometric petals are a really lovely touch. if facets aren’t your thing the mame-yakko chrysanthemum is a nice option, too. [i can't sleep because 'rock your body' is stuck in my head. so instead of starting late i'll bow out a bit early today]

Love the colors in the chrysanthemum piece and the busy-ness of the petals.
