i’m loving collages right now- they’re a wonderful example of reusing materials to create something beautiful and fresh. yesterday artist jennifer judd-mcgee sent over a link to her brand new etsy shop, swallowfield. she sells beautiful collage work on her site for extremely reasonable prices (pieces range from $45-$55). it’s always wonderful to discover more affordable art on the web. i find myself more fulfilled these days investing in affordable, original art rather than more furniture (unless it’s a really great vintage score). so, if you’re in the market for a beautiful collage piece for your home, click here to check out swallowfield’s collection at etsy. [thanks, jen!]

many thanks for this great mention, grace.

I purchased a piece not too long ago and what the photos can’t capture is the depth and layering. Jen uses paper with many of her own designs and drawings.

i had to do a doubletake. these look like she took a bunch of elements from their wallpaper. right down to the birds even. imitation = flattery i guess.

i may be partial, but i love swallowfield with every fiber of my being.

capples, i have never even seen that website until you posted it today. there are lots of birds and flowers in the world to admire, though.

I’m not seeing the overwhelming likeness that above commentor pointed out. What I do see is some wonderfully original artwork that I am happy was showcased here. The Swallowtail work is beautiful.

Beautiful collages! I linked here through Etsy. Not sure what the comment about the wallpaper design, I don’t see a strong likeness at all, in fact, the wallpaper is not textural like these collages, there are no texts used. Strange comment. Anyway, nice blog as well!

I just want to buy everything the artist made. Most I see now are reproductions on a printer, how does that look?
