make: blog

congrats to make‘s blog on winning the 2007 bloggie for best craft blog! i was scanning the site and came across so many great projects but this was one i thought would be of special interest to any designers out there. good photography is often expensive and tricky but make has a post on how to make a $10 lightbox that gives you pretty spectacular product shot results. not a bad way to take some initial photos of your work to send to the press and shops…click here for the full post.

this is a simple brilliant solution. great that you posted about it!

I’ve made this light box from their instructions and had great results! I used vellum instead of tissue paper – a little more durable but with the same result.

Thank you for posting this again!
I’ve been meaning to setup a real light box like this!

Thanks for sharing this. I wonder if anyone thinks you could substitute wax paper?

Thank you!!! I found this a while back…didn’t bookmark it, then could not for the life of me remember where I saw it!

I have forwarded it right on to honey…as in …do…and hope it makes me one!

effing brilliant. This sure beats my clamped-together-foamcore madness

It’s sorta kinda unfair to post this as being Make’s writing. It’s a post with a link to another weblog, Strobist, which has some FANtastic photography how-tos and articles on off camera lighting for DIYers, hobbyists, and professionals.

Check him out.

Go Strobist!! I’ve just about read through most of his archive. What a great surprise to see him here. One of the most helpful photography websites on the net.
