I had Heath ceramic dishes when I got married in 1970! There are still a few pieces that my kids have kept, but gave most away....and now I regret not keeping them. I had no idea they were so wonderful until they were out of my cupboards.
Glad they are still available.

I heart Heath Ceramics but I live on the East Coast and haven't had the opportunity to visit their store -- but I've heard the bargains are INSANE. I guess I need a friend who lives out West to buy & ship me some good finds. :)

I was just at Heath Ceramics and there are loads of dishes you can find cheap. The quality is the best and the people are very friendly. In fact, I ran into an old associate there.

From what I understand, the company's been there for 60 years! They have this uber cool couple that bought out the company, revamped it and even kept the around some of the employees that have been working there for 30 years...They pay all their workers benefits and have cool old factory that makes the same designs as it did 50 something years ago.

I've never seen anything like it. The cool thing about it is that you can find one off custom dishes in the clearance that nobody else has and likely not to be made again. I found these cool square platters that were made for AIA and placed on sale. I found dishes for $5 + $10.00 dollars -

They even represent other designers turned potters...which is very affordable and collectible designs by EMIGRE..

Heath is so worth every dollar

you get what you pay for. Heath pays it's workers full health care benefits and nothing is outsourced to countries with cheap labor. You'll find plenty of nice looking things you can buy cheaper.

I don't think you are cheap - I was thinking the same thing and am what my mom likes to call a "shopaholic". I love Heath Ceramics, know they are expensive, etc. but this is just a big waste of dinero.
