We’re glad your service was impecable, but troubled that the plates disappointed. While issues like these are something that melamine sellers have to deal with all the time, these cracks are not really cracks at all. The thin lines are the printed melamine foil wrinkling and overlapping itself due to the 3D nature of the plate base. The good news is that since the design application part of the plate making process is done by hand, two are rarely the same. The bad news is that some plates will have a few small marks, but some won’t have any at all–it all depends on the nature of the design, and temperature in the factory. We can’t guarantee that our plates will be free of these lines, but have been told by many gift shop owners, that our plates are of better quality than any of our competitors.

“We’re sorry you are not satisfied with the plates. Unfortunately, the darker colored plates are difficult to produce, and most of them have slight “hair lines” along the edges. I doubt very much that we can find 4 plates that you will be happy with.”

Instead I was offered a full refund. In short–the company offers great customer service, but the plates were a bit of a letdown and definitely not worth $40 in the condition which I received them. Not sure if it’s true of all designs, but also not sure I’d take my chances.

i use wrapping paper as shelf liner and drawer liner all the time :)

merely cut your piece to size and adhere with glue (if you’re down with perm.) or try something like putting laminate down over it. or that clear contact paper that’s sticky. that way it stays waterproof and you can just pull it up when you’re done
