gone fishin’

adlerfish-lg

ok, not really, since the idea of putting a hook in something makes me squirm, but i’m leaving tomorrow morning for a much needed summer vacation. ac and i are heading to my family’s house in virginia beach until next tuesday. so, d*s will be closing shop and coming back on wednesday morning. sorry i didn’t post much of anything today, my posts for apartment therapy took more time than i thought. plus i’m running things at work solo for the next week or two so i’ve been bogged down more than i normally am. anyway, i hope everyone has a wonderful fourth of july! i’ll see you all on wednesday. have a safe and happy holiday. xoxo, d*s

zipcar rules. no complaints. i highly highly suggest it….but always plan way ahead in the summer weekends…all the good city cars are inevitably booked.

that fee is in your contract- at least it was in mine. i think not paying for your own gas makes up for it.

you’re not being punished, it’s the cost of the service, lack of paperwork, ease of use and free gas and TOLLS.

Zipcar WARNING! Consumers… beware! Bring your digital cameras when picking up and dropping off! I took a car out for two hours, inspecting before and after the ride. Ten days later I am informed of a $341 charge for damage repairs! Apparently I’m responsible for what happened between the time the valet parked it and the next guy picked it up. Wrong I say. Very wrong!

First off, tolls are not now free with Zipcar (in the year I used them, they never were). Also, you will get “dinged” for damage, and Zipcar is unapologetic about it: “It is Zipcars position that while the Car is parked in the garage, no damage occurs” is how they phrased it in an email to me, even though the damage was entirely consistent with that which occurs in parking.

what damage is consistent with parking? i’ve never had a car be damaged by parking in a lot.
