WHORL, DETAIL, 2000

for me, icff was all about seeking out texture. i wanted to see people experiment with bringing texture to the home in interesting ways, with interesting materials. one booth that didn’t let me down was j pritchard design. their whorl wall covering seriously blew me away. it was a heavenly texture overload.

CUSH, DETAIL, 2005

austin-based jennifer pritchard made some beautiful porcelain wall coverings (not the most practical wall covering, but oh so cool to look at), my favorite being “whorl”- a cup like porcelain system that makes your wall look like white anenmeone’s are growing on it. or, well, something aquatic. i just wanted to stare at it for hours.

CONTOUR, 2004

they also make some other wonderful textured wall coverings called contour, shag, loop and cush. texture-tastic. you can see all of their painfully beautiful work here. all the pictures above and below are from their press kit. thanks!

Oh my god, I love this! Makes me want to try this at home – which my cats would love too, I’m sure!
